Spread Your Wings and Fly!

It's never too late to learn new things! Spread your wings and soar like an eagle! The pic above are the charms I made at the workshop...with Brenda's help!!

Amy and I met in Carmine at Deb Taylor's Art Bodega for our very first soldering class and loved it! Brenda Wampler taught the class. She not only teaches you how to make charms, but provides great safety tips so you don't burn the crap out of yourself!

Just being in Deb's Art Bodega is an inspirational experience! The collection of beads, charms, pieces of metal, wire, tin, art supplies is just phenomenal! You can't help being inspired and wondering what will Deb create with all her supplies!

It was fun to create and bond...not only with tape and solder...but with friends and telling stories while we work. It took me hours to create my first piece. I wanted it to be really special and cool. I wore my creations to work and had tons of compliments! Below are pics from the workshop! I can't wait for the next one!

Here's Brenda! Our very own patient teacher!

Any Day with Charley!

Here's Charley! Charley is the most awesome man! I rate him up there next to my dad! Have you ever read the book "Tuesdays With Morrie?" Charley rates up there with Morrie! I first met Charley when I took his Principles in Management class in Fall 2007. That November, we gave him a surprise 80th birthday party in class.

He had a heart attack in February this year and is currently in rehab. You can tell he loves teaching and truly cares about each one of his 100+ students! He teaches life's lessons and instills morals, values, honesty, trust, positive behavior, good attitude, get rid of negative stuff, be happy, enjoy life ...just to name a few...in each student. He's concerned about each individual not only as a student, but as a person!

I went to visit Charley after work last Thursday. He's graduated from eating "air" (oxygen) to having pureed food. We talked about when he was in college getting his Business degree, MBA, Doctorate, running track, taking summer classes...his stories are endless and I could listen to him forever! I had never heard of baroque music until I took his class and now have several CDs.

Please keep him in your prayers!

Anal or Organization!

Know what this is? It's a Kleenex box stuffed with plastic bags! I got 10 bags stuffed in this little box, but a large box would hold more! Now is this anal or being organized? A friend of mine told me about this little trick and I thought it was pretty neat. You girls post beautiful pics of really cool stuff and I post a pic of a Kleenex box! How funny is that!!

I Hope You Dance

I am truly blessed with two beautiful girls, one handsome and successful son-in-law, and five beautiful grandchildren! Each are unique in their own way! I'm so fortunate to be able to be a part of their lives.

My brother was 50 years old when he died of cancer. He went to heaven in April 1999...just a few days before my mom's birthday. He was laid to rest in the same cemetery close to mom on her birthday. How weird is that? Steve didn't live to see the millennium, see his daughter graduate from college, or see his beautiful grandchildren.

We take so much for granted. My wish for each of you is this....I hope you dance and live your dreams! Be happy! You can do anything you set out to do! The only thing we fear is fear itself.

The Butterflies

Rianah is playing soccer this season. The name of her team is the Purple Butterflies. Today she played the Pink Butterflies...pink is her favorite color. At first I couldn't figure out which team she was on because she had on a purple shirt and pink socks! I think her uniform got lost in the shuffle somewhere!

She was really pretty good when she played! She was the social butterfly on the field...she liked to visit with Sophie. All the little girls were adorable! I laughed so hard because she'd be kicking the ball towards the wrong goal. The other thing that was so funny are the little goals! They are so small!

I present to you...Madam Butterfly!
